My mom was always a big proponent of the weekly menu. Every Sunday she sat down to make one list of meals for the week and a second list of grocery items. I learned that habit from her and I have to say that the weeks when I take the time to do it are far less stressful. If you’re not currently in the habit of making a weekly menu and shopping list here are some great resources to help you:

What you need in cases like that is good “kitchen sink” recipes – things that use up a lot of leftovers. Like pita pizzas (grab a pita, put some sauce on it and dump whatever veggies, cheese, meats you have on top and stick it in the oven) tacos/burritos (wrap up whatever you got in a tortilla), salads (toss your leftovers with some greens), etc.
I actually have a tip coming up on ways to use up leftovers so stay tuned
